Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office Court Security/Transport Division is made up of two full time Deputies and several part time Deputies.  These Deputies or Bailiff’s are responsible for the daily operations and general security in and around the Courtroom. The Bailiff is responsible for having a person/persons transported in a timely manner from the Cleburne County Jail to the Courtroom and back again after the case is heard by the judge. There are three Courtrooms and five Judges in Cleburne County. It is not uncommon to have all three courts in session simultaneously. Other responsibilities include managing jurors during a jury trial, safeguarding the judge, operation of Courtroom security devices, maintaining a proper Courtroom environment, serving warrants in the court, arranging prisoners to appear before the Judge for an 8.1, transporting prisoners to the doctor, dentist and mental health appointments.  Transport Officers also transport people, when sentenced by a judge, to correctional facilities all over the State of Arkansas. These Officers also leave the County/State to pick up someone in another correctional facility and bring them back to Cleburne County to await trial.
