Shane Baugh Apprehended in White County

 

      In May of this year while investigating a Residential Burglary which occurred on McJester Road Investigators and Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate and arrest 24 year-old Gerald Shane Baugh. Baugh fled on foot after being located at a trailer on McJester Road and managed to evade both the Officers and tracking dogs from the Department of Corrections. Since that incident the Sheriff’s Office has worked to locate Baugh and serve outstanding warrants for Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons a class ‘D’ Felony, Non-payment of fines a Misdemeanor and Fleeing a misdemeanor.

      On November 6th, Cleburne County Investigators developed information that Baugh was staying at a residence near Judsonia. Authorities in White County were contacted and early in the morning on November 7, Cleburne County Investigators, along with officers from the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force, Arkansas Community Corrections, Arkansas Department of Corrections, White County Sheriff’s Office, and Judsonia Police Department went to the Patricia Newman residence at 244 Highway 385 North, Judsonia, in an attempt to locate Baugh. Patricia Newman lived on McJester Road prior to moving to Judsonia and is Baugh’s mother.  A search of the Newman residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 11.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine (Ice), approximately 180.5 grams of suspected marijuana, a pistol, $1,260.00 of US currency, and items of drug paraphernalia.  Newman, 48, and Anthony Miles, 47, of Judsonia, AR were arrested for Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance With Purpose to Deliver, namely methamphetamine, a class “B” felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class “B” felony, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, a class “Y” felony, and Maintaining a Drug Premises, a class “D” felony.  Newman was incarcerated in the White County Detention Center on $25,000.00 bond and Miles was incarcerated on $10,000.00 bond.

      Officers subsequently developed information that Baugh was at a Bald Knob, AR motel and proceeded to the motel where Baugh, 24, of Pangburn and Jacob James, 23, of Heber Springs attempted to flee. When apprehended Baugh was found to be in possession of approximately 71.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 11.5 grams of suspected marijuana, a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, and $600.00 US currency. Baugh was arrested on the Cleburne County warrants, and transported to the Cleburne County Detention Center, where he is currently being held. Additional drug and firearms charges are pending federally. James was arrested for fleeing, a misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class “B” felony. James was transported to the White County Detention Center where he was found to be in possession of approximately .1 gram of suspected methamphetamine, and arrested for Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance namely Methamphetamine, a class “D” felony and Furnishing Prohibited Articles, a class “C” felony.  James is incarcerated in the White County Detention Center on $25,000.00 bond.
