Post Office Drug Arrest

     On Thursday August 22, 2013 Narcotics Investigators with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, Special Agents with United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Agents with the United States Postal Inspection Service, and Agents with the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force arrested Richard Qualls 55, of Heber Springs at the Heber Springs Post Office.

     The arrest followed an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators and assisting agencies into suspected methamphetamine being ordered and mailed into the country from the Philippines.

     A search warrant was then executed at the home of Richard Qualls located at 184 Harlan Lane in Wilburn where investigators located more suspected controlled substances, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and several firearms.

     Richard Qualls was transported to the Cleburne County Detention Center and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver to wit methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

     Mr. Qualls bond was set at 100,000.00.
