Sheriff's Office Weekend Activity

 

Along with providing watercraft for and assisting with this year’s Card Board Boat Races held at Sandy Beach this past weekend, Deputies responded to numerous calls for service across the county. The following reports were filed with the Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday morning, 27 July, a blue Miller Bobcat 8,000 watt welder/generator mounted on a 4X8 utility trailer was reported stolen from the sale barn. A reward of $2,000 dollars has been offered for information leading to an arrest and recovery of the property.

Deputies took a report on River Trail Road of outgoing mail being stolen from a mailbox.

A storage shed was reported broken into in the 3600 block of Little Rock Road.

Harassing Communications in the form of sexual explicit phone calls made to an eighty three year old woman was reported on July 28th

Theft of a cell phone in the I camp area Dam site park.

Deputies and EMS responded to a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a residence on Piney Creek Road. The victim was transported to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

A theft report involving a car stereo being stolen was taken from a residence on River Drive Estates Road.

A 16 ft. orange utility trailer was reported stolen from Tumbling Shoals.

A 1999 Jeep Wrangler was reported stolen on Christopher Drive.

 Property owners reported that the lock was cut off a gate on Longbranch Road.

Threatening text messages were received by a resident on Wolf Bayou Cutoff and a report for Harassing Communications and Terroristic Threatening was filed.

A criminal trespass complaint believed to involve juveniles was received from a residence on Edgemont Road.

Deputies responded to a domestic Disturbance on Wesley Chapel Road. No injuries were reported and no charges were filed.

A report of an animal bite report which occurred on Mill Creek Road was taken at the Emergency Room in Heber Springs.

A 21 year old Heber Springs resident was arrested for Public Intoxication.

 A thirty-seven year old Heber Springs resident was cited for Illegal Dumping

A 20 year old Batesville resident was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

A 28 year old Batesville resident was arrested for Resisting Arrest.

Deputies responded to an unattended death on Simmons Loop. No foul play is suspected.

A 22 year old Drasco resident was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a Minor.

A phone scam which cost the victim over $500.00 was reported in the Ida area. The scam began as a phone call received from a male who identified himself as Ben Washington. Washington stated that the victim had won the Publisher’s Clearing House and needed to send money to be able to claim her prize. These types of scams are very common and should be reported immediately. Please use caution anytime you are asked to send money or provide any personal information.

A 44 year old Memphis resident was arrested for DWI and Refusal to Submit following a traffic stop on Edgemont Road.
