Sex Offender arrested for Failure to Register

 

Elliot Gilbert, a thirty-six year old male was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies on Cleburne County Misdemeanor warrants at his place of employment on June 30th. Gilbert, who had been living on Dekalb Road since mid-April, was also charged with Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. In 2008 Gilbert was convicted of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor in Indiana and ordered to register as a Sex Offender in that state. Any person required to register as a Sex Offender in any other state is also required to register in Arkansas. Gilbert was located by Detectives acting on a tip received from Blount County, Alabama. Failure to Comply is a Class C Felony. Bond was set at $25,000. 

At approximately 3:00 PM yesterday, a single engine aircraft crashed at 212 Airport Road in Edgemont. The pilot stated that while attempting to take off the engine died and the aircraft crashed into a yard damaging a hanger, chain link fence and trees. No injuries were reported in the accident. The FAA was notified of the incident and forwarded a copy of the report.
